Student Resource Scheme

At Hercules Road State School, we offer a Student Resource Scheme to support student learning by providing a convenient and cost-effective way for families to access classroom resources.

The annual Student Resource Scheme cost is:

  • Prep: $45

  • Years 1–6: $40

The scheme provides students with consumable classroom resources such as art supplies, craft supplies, science supplies and photocopying of worksheets.

Parents and carers are also provided with a booklist to purchase their child’s personal books and stationery.

Families wishing to participate in the Student Resource Scheme are required to complete the Student Resource Scheme Participation Agreement Form.

Instrumental Music Student Resource Scheme

Instrumental music is available for students in Years 3–6. The school has capacity for approximately 80 students to participate in the program, learning either a concert band or string instrument.

Students may hire a school instrument for their first year in the program.

Back to School Boost

On 24 June 2025, the Queensland Government announced a Back-to-School Boost for all Queensland primary school students.

The Back-to-School Boost provides a $100 credit for each primary school student from the start of 2026. This credit is designed to assist families with school costs during 2026.

A $100 credit will be placed on the account of all students enrolled in Prep to Year 6 from the start of the 2026 school year.

Families can choose which school-related costs they would like to use the credit for throughout the year. This may include expenses such as:

  • excursions

  • camps

  • incursions

  • Instrumental Music SRS

  • voluntary contributions

Please note that the Back-to-School Boost cannot be used to reimburse purchases made at external stores and cannot be provided as a cash payment to families or students.

The school cannot apply the credit without written confirmation via the consent form. To avoid disappointment, please ensure payments and consent forms are submitted before the due date. Due to planning requirements, late payments for events cannot be accommodated.

What happens to the credit if we leave Hercules Road State School?

If your child leaves Hercules Road State School and there is a credit balance on their account, this can be refunded through the school’s normal refund process.

Any unspent funds at the end of the year will remain on the student’s account until they leave or graduate from the school.
